TR-005 Orbitel Television [1972]

Not dissimilar to JVC’s iconic Videosphere, the TR-005 Orbitel Television showcased Panasonic’s ability to fuse space-age infatuations with quality consumer technology, cementing itself as a forerunner in a market crowded by other Japanese manufactures. What separated Panasonic from other designer-makers of its time was its bold, playfully personable silhouettes and associated campaigns, with the TR-005 accompanied by personified copy that included the lines ‘So take me to your leaders – the ones who set the styles’.
