Scarborough College [1963]

John Andrews

Australian-born, American-educated architect John Andrews saw the completion of his design for Scarborough College (now known simply as the ‘Andrews Building’) in 1967, with Time magazine devoting an impressive four-page spread to the structure in a January issue of the same year. Hailed as an exemplar piece of Canadian modern architecture, for its connection to the environment and its stepped in situ concrete and timber form that emerges organically from a natural ridge.
