Originally conceived as the successor to Volkswagen’s Beetle, the Golf GTI stands as Giorgetto Giugiaro’s most commercially successful design – one that managed to usher in a new era of boxy hatchbacks. Later modified by Rainer Buchmann’s „bb“ design house to include a new paint scheme and interior.
