Plumbers and Gasfitters Employees Union Building [1970]

A triumph in off-form concrete construction, Graeme Gunn’s Union building is notable for its monolithic, sculptural form and an unabashed, reduced approach to its material palette. Heritage listed in Victoria, Gunn’s design stands as one of the best examples of commercial, utilitarian architecture with Robin Boyd proclaiming it to be ‘Architecture with a capital A, which usually means art with a small one’.
