Government Palace and Chamber of Deputies [1963]

Joaquín Alvarez Ordóñez

Limited information can be sourced when it comes to certain pieces of government architecture – and Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies building in Campeche is no different. With an overtly geometrical form, a mirrored pyramid is broken by a thin horizontal line of glazing that seems to reference science fiction more heavily than other Brutalist-inclined government structures of the time.
