Modelled off geodesic concepts defined by Buckminster Fuller, architect Bernard Judge (together with Jeffrey Lindsay) designed and built himself a dome house in the Hollywood Hills. Completed in 1960 with its engineering utilised as a true architectural feature, Judge’s home was clad with transparent, semi-permeable plastic with a fabric canopy to the exterior. Later dismantled and given to the Smithsonian Institution.
