Designed to resemble a pair of ski jumps, Hotel Panorama Oberhof was once part of the German Democratic Republic’s luxury Interhotel chain that targeted and favoured a local clientele. Reportedly closing shortly after its opening due to miscalculated wind loads, the Hotel was then re-engineered and famously contained an upmarket Japanese restaurant – one of the first in the area and seven within the complex.
