Isle Dauphine Club [1962]

Charles Maddox

A set of curvilinear structures to facilitate a regulation golf course to Dauphin Island (once famously under siege by pirates), the Isle Club incorporates a golf club as part of a broader masterplan to reinvigorate the Island just 6km off Alabama’s coast. Builder Charles Maddox – then with decades of experience in the field – termed the project his most challenging due to the remoteness of the site and parameters of its topography which required unique drainage solutions, wave diversion and the mitigation of sand movement.
