Receiving his Masters in Art, before studying Industrial Design and later Architecture, Richard Spencer’s portfolio of houses project a love of holistic design. His Malibu House, once-sited above Castle Rock in Pacific Palisades, California, cantilevered itself five metres from the hillside and featured an impressive suite of bespoke built-in furnishings and appliances, many of which Spencer designed himself. Demolished in 1975 after a nearby landslide rendered the site unsafe.
