Designtel - Messerschmitt KR200 Roadster, Fritz Fend

Messerschmitt KR200 Roadster [1955]

Fritz Fend

Designed by an aircraft engineer and produced by an aircraft manufacturer, the KR200 has more in common with its winged counterparts than that of the automobile. Messerschmitt – due to their contract with the German Luftwaffe – was not permitted to produce aircraft immediately following the Second World War, resulting in a pivot towards the booming microcar market. With a cockpit-esque tandem seated interior accessible via a sideward-hinged roof canopy (on the non-Roadster variant) the KR200 was a tremendous success, with models still sought after today.
