EX-7 [1970]

Toyota

Sporting a low, extruded and aerodynamic silhouette similar to that of other supercars of the time (such as the Mercedes C111) Toyota’s EX-7 tended more towards fantasy when compared to other automaker concepts. Deployed with a marketing campaign headlined ‘Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow’, the EX-7’s impressively glazed cabin is accessed via a pair of rear-hinged doors that lift upwards alongside the seats to improve access. A standout at the Tokyo Motor Show of 1970, the EX-7 also pushed vehicle cabin design, with a silver cylindrical element encasing a speedometer and a stereo positioned to the centre console between seats.
