UMass Fine Arts Center [1974]

Kevin Roche and John Dinkeloo, no strangers to massively modern works, devised their Fine Arts Center to align with the University’s masterplan that required vehicular access to the perimeter to enclose a pedestrian scaled-interior. A series of planes, 90° in plan and 45° in section cast exceptional shadows into the complex, filtering light through splayed concrete colonnades.
