{"id":2846,"date":"2017-07-23T08:41:49","date_gmt":"2017-07-23T08:41:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/designtel.co\/?p=2846"},"modified":"2017-08-28T10:38:16","modified_gmt":"2017-08-28T10:38:16","slug":"ibirapuera-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/design.tel\/ibirapuera-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Ibirapuera Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ibirapuera Park was designed and built to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, with vast landscaping designed by\u00a0Ot\u00e1vio Agusto de Teixeira Mendes to complement the <a href=\"http:\/\/designtel.co\/category\/designers\/oscar-niemeyer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Oscar Niemeyer<\/a> penned collection of structures. This includes the Afro-Brazilian museum, Biennal Pavilion (designed with\u00a0H\u00e9lio Uch\u00f4a) and the Oca Pavilion\u00a0(pictured here) serving as a museum to both aeronautics and folklore. More recently, the\u00a0Ibirapuera Auditorium was completed (2005) from original <a href=\"http:\/\/designtel.co\/category\/designers\/oscar-niemeyer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Niemeyer<\/a> plans drafted half a century prior that finalised\u00a0the\u00a0complex that certainly serves as a testament to the city&#8217;s design lineage and dynamism. The Oca Pavilion itself, one of Niemeyer&#8217;s lesser known <a href=\"http:\/\/designtel.co\/category\/designers\/oscar-niemeyer\/\" target=\"_blank\">works<\/a>, was has since been\u00a0substantially restored by MMBB &amp; Paulo Mendes da Rocha and offers a reminder of its architect&#8217;s profound mastery of curvilinear form and space.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ibirapuera Park was designed and built to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, with vast landscaping designed by\u00a0Ot\u00e1vio Agusto de Teixeira Mendes to complement the Oscar Niemeyer penned collection of structures.
