{"id":557,"date":"2016-02-28T01:49:26","date_gmt":"2016-02-28T01:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/designtel.co\/?p=557"},"modified":"2016-08-18T01:08:20","modified_gmt":"2016-08-18T01:08:20","slug":"sheats-goldstein-residence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/design.tel\/sheats-goldstein-residence\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheats Goldstein Residence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The sprawling in-situ concrete geometric play of a structure that is the Sheats-Goldstein Residence remains a striking example of <a href=\"http:\/\/designtel.co\/category\/designers\/john-lautner\/\">Lautner\u2019s<\/a> whimsical fusion of modernist Organic Architecture and space-age ideals. Profoundly influenced by his mentorship under <a href=\"http:\/\/designtel.co\/category\/designers\/frank-lloyd-wright\/\">Frank Lloyd Wright<\/a>, this Residence &#8211; originally designed for a doctor and artist couple with five kids &#8211; allowed its architect to design each element: fittings, fixtures, furniture and all. Retractable skylights, automated panels and concealed faucets were key aspects to the \u2018grammar\u2019 (a famously Wrightian term) of the form which simultaneously appears monolithic and dynamic &#8211; bare and all-inclusive.
