A low, boxy structure topped by a pair of domes and towers, Oscar Niemeyer’s National Congress complex highlights his organic approach to architecture’s International Style. Sited to the centre of of Brazil’s capital, the slender towers display a tight uniformity that recalls the work of Mies which Niemeyer offsets with a set of curvilinear domes, one inverted and one upright that house the Chamber of Deputies and Senate respectively.
